E-Waste PCB Recycling: Recovering Copper and More

Time:2024-06-09 15:45:55 Author:Suny Group

E-waste refers to discarded electronic devices or electrical equipment, including computers, cell phones, televisions, refrigerators, washing machines and so on. With the continuous development of technology and the constant demand for electronic products, the generation of e-waste has increased dramatically. However, e-waste contains many hazardous substances and valuable materials, so effective e-waste recycling and disposal has become crucial.

SUNY GROUP, a company dedicated to the environmental field, has developed specialized e-waste recycling machines to recycle e-waste safely and effectively. Below is the main process of e-waste recycling:

PCB Dismantling: Firstly, the electronic components are removed from the circuit boards. This step is very important because electronic components usually contain valuable materials such as gold, silver and copper. Disassembling the electronic components prepares them for subsequent processing and recycling.

Shredding and Crushing: Next, the PCB is broken down into smaller pieces using an e-waste shredder. These shredders come in a variety of sizes and models, ranging from small desktop machines to large industrial units that can handle large amounts of e-waste. Commonly used machines are dual-shaft shredders, which are effective at pulverizing PCBs into smaller particles.

Separation Technologies: After shredding, different separation technologies are required to separate the mixed materials for further recycling and processing.

Air Separators: These devices use an air stream to separate materials according to their weight and characteristics. Due to the different densities and weights of different materials, air separators can separate different materials such as plastics, metals and glass.

Gravity Separators: Gravity separators use the difference in density of materials to separate them. According to the different densities of materials, gravity separators can separate heavy metals, plastics and other materials.

Magnetic Separators: Magnetic separators utilize the action of a magnetic field to separate materials that contain magnetic properties. These machines are typically used to extract ferrous metals containing iron and steel, as well as non-ferrous metals such as copper and aluminum.

Refining and purification technology: After the separation process, further refining and purification of the material is required to extract valuable metals.

Refiners: Refiners use technologies such as smelting and electrolysis to extract and separate valuable metals from mixed materials. Through these techniques, important metal materials such as gold, silver, and copper can be extracted from e-waste.

By using these e-waste recycling equipment, valuable materials can be effectively recovered from e-waste and the impact on the environment can be minimized. If you have any demand or interest in e-waste recycling, please feel free to contact SUNY GROUP for consultation and more information.
