1. Crushing equipment: Crushing equipment is the first part of the recycling production line, mainly used to crush the waste lithium batteries into small pieces. Common crushing equipment includes double-axis crusher and single-axis crusher:

Twin-shaft crusher: consists of two relatively rotating knife shafts, suitable for processing large sizes and high hardness of the battery.

Single-shaft crusher: consists of a rotating knife shaft and a fixed blade, suitable for processing smaller-sized batteries.

The crushed battery material is easy for subsequent sorting and processing.

2. Sorting equipment: Sorting equipment separates the crushed battery material into different components by physical or chemical methods:

Magnetic separator: utilizes magnetic force to separate the iron-containing materials from other components.

Eddy current sorters: use the eddy current effect to separate non-ferrous metals (e.g. aluminum, copper) from non-metallic materials.

These machines ensure efficient separation of materials and improve recovery efficiency.

3. Continuous carbonization equipment

The crushed material is processed at high temperatures through a continuous carbonization furnace. The high-temperature environment in the carbonization furnace causes the organic materials in the cell to decompose, generating carbides and combustible gases. The pyrolysis gas generated during the carbonization process is purified and can be reused in the carbonization furnace to provide heat for the carbonization process, thus improving energy efficiency. This process not only reduces waste but also enhances the recycling rate of resources.

4. Crushing and sorting: The carbonized material needs to be further crushed and separated from aluminum, copper, black powder, and other components through processes such as specific gravity sorting and electrostatic sorting:

Specific gravity sorting: using the difference in specific gravity of different materials, through gravity or centrifugal force to separate the materials.

Electrostatic sorting: Separate the charged materials from the uncharged materials through the action of the electric field.

5. Automated control system

Modern recycling equipment is usually equipped with advanced automated control systems to monitor and control the entire recycling process. The automated control system can monitor the running status of the equipment in real-time and make parameter adjustments to improve production efficiency and operational safety. This not only reduces the burden of manual operation but also greatly improves the overall efficiency of the production line.
