As blister packs are mostly made of a composite of aluminum foil and plastic materials, the recycling process is more challenging. Working principle of aluminium-plastic separator

The working principle of the aluminium-plastic separator can be summarised in four basic stages: crushing, grinding, separation, and collection. Firstly, medical blister packs are initially crushed through a crusher. The purpose of the Crusher is to break the waste blister packs into smaller particles, reducing the volume of material in subsequent processing and creating the conditions for aluminum-plastic separation. The crushed material then enters the Grinding System, where the material is further refined, improving the separation of aluminum and plastic. The finer material is easier to separate effectively in the subsequent separation process, ensuring efficient recycling.

Next, the aluminum-plastic separator carries out the critical separation of aluminum and plastic using a Separation System. Common separation techniques include Electrostatic Separation and Vibrating Screening. Electrostatic Separation uses charge differences to separate charged aluminum particles from plastic particles while Vibrating Screening further screens different materials through a vibrating screen mesh based on the size and weight differences of the particles. The combination of these two methods allows for efficient separation of aluminum and plastic and increased recycling rates.
